Wedding jitters - Food tasting

I have received my invitation cards, will be sending them out soon by next two weeks, I suppose.

Suddenly, I m overwhelmed with a lot of errands.... :p

I stayed up till 12plus to create my guestlistin in excel last nite..I ve only done half of it!

I ve not been able to fall asleep immediately these past few days. I was able to do that last few weeks as I was exhausted from the many events at my workplace.

Not that I m not exhausted, I' M TOO EXCITED TO SLEEP! My mind is alwis tinking about something on our wedding...

..did I get this? shall i get that? who shall i invite? Is this done?....etc...

many things is running amok in my mind, while my dear mr FAT slept soundly next to me. Dun tink he would even flinch if there is a earthquake.

Back to the topic of this blog entry, both my family and his family met up this monday evening for the food tasting as well as to discuss abt the Guo Da Li. (an auspicious day when matchmaker bring gifts from groom's family to the bride's family)

The food was so-so, nothing spectatcular, exquisite. I would not expect my guests to have good comments. mr FAT comforted me that hotel food are normally so-so, as you go for the ambience, not for the food. I was not comforted though but no choice I have now. (the Yoda speaks)

The fish is an issue.

I m no food gourmet/ critic and my fav food is not fish. I thought the fish was ok.

But things were a bit different as mr FAT's family has this innate love for fish. Well, not inborn love lah, his dad sells fish. (this is not a joke, his dad is a fishmonger)

Their criteria for a good fish dish is a bit different from my family, or maybe just me.

His dad wanted the fish to be changed to a better one, garoupa, I tink. But his son, mr FAT, do not want to coz it would cost at least $25-$30 more per table. To mr FAT, $$$ is still more important than having garoupa on the table.

My parents tried to help out by saying its nice enuf..no need to change..

but mr FAT's family knows that once mr FAT's dad commented something (which is quite rare as his dad is the quiet type), its better to give him what he wans as he would pay for it.

Stubborn mr FAT wans to tink it over and he has not decided on it yet.

He asked me for my opinion.

But he knew my answer before I even open my mouth...

I m very CHIN CHAI one! I dun mind spending neither do I mind having something less than garoupa on the dinner table. Happy can oredi!
