I recently recovered from a bout of food poisoning.
As advised by ms complain queen, i sent the below letter to breadtalk, copied to NEA.....
To Managing Director, Breadtalk Group Ltd
Dear Sir/ Mdm
I have been a loyal customer of Breadtalk's products and it was my family's favourite bread store.
After the below incident, I do not think I would ever patronise your stores.
On 2 Aug 2006, at about 7plus pm, as usual, I bought some bread from your store at Wisma Artria; 2 pieces of pork floss buns and 2 pieces of buns with taiwan sausage and onion flakes (I forgot the name of the bread).
My brother ate the sausage bun that night and suffered from stomach discomfort for the whole night. But he was ok the next day. At that time, he did not think much of it.
In the morning, 3 Aug 2006, 6.30am, I ate the other sausage bun for breakfast with plain water. I felt that the bun was a bit dry than usual but think nothing of it as I have been buying these buns for breakfast and everytime they taste alright. I thought it was my taste buds' problem.
I started to feel pain in my stomach at about 7 plus am..and I knew I must have eaten something wrong. Worse, I started feeling nauseous and I began to have diarrhoea..
I left for work but because I was feeling so sick in the stomach that I had to rush back home to my neighbourhood's clinic. (Healthline Family Clinic 64463260)
It was food poisoning and when I checked with my family members, my brother confirmed he had your bread before feeling the discomfort in his stomach the night before.
I m feeling better now but I still feel nauseous and my stomach still feels strange.
Although I do not have any concrete proof that my stomach discomfort is due to your bread but I hope that your company could re-examine your food handling and hygiene practices. There have been times I saw files hovering above your bread and staff handling both the bread and cash haphazardly.
I do not seek any redress but I write this mail because I am disappointed and angry as a loyal customer. I have copied this mail to the National Environment Agency for the safety of all your other customers.
