It's getting increasingly hard to do all these...

Feel a bit suffocated...

Need a break, maybe some couple time...

Only the two of us...no kids...one full day...

Starting fresh

I used to write diaries.

I started writing them since my junior college years.

I loved to write all my feelings about this boy, that friend, my family members etc.

and secrets too.

When I re-read my diaries, I noticed my style of writing changed over the years.

From puppy-love, childish style to a mellow and emotional one.

Then came blogging.

I started reading mrbrown.com, tomorrow.sg...

Which led to my 1st blog at friendster.

I went crazy registering blogs all over the various free blogsites.

Then I finally settled with blogspot. Despite the limited template layouts, it is a very basic and easy-to-use blogsite for a non-tech person like me.

Actually, I prefer writing diaries to blogging. I can really write my secret feelings and nobody will ever know.

But nowadays, I can't seem to think, holding a pen. I need a keyboard to get my thoughts going.

And sadly, I find that I can't sit still or find enough time to write a good blog post.

Plus I have been MIA for the longest time in my blog, busy giving birth to 3 lovely dotters.

Nevertheless, this new blog is a new start for me, I hope I can sustain the renewed interest!

Changes

As you can see from the sidebars of my blog...I have removed my not-so-new year resolutions and replacing them with baby yuyan's milestones.

I have also put in some of my must-read-daily links at the side...

Having a baby really changes everything...including the sites you surf...

I will introducing changes to my blog every now and then...

give me more time, yah? ;)

Lucky, not 'suay'

Ever had those days that everything seems to go wrong?

Me and cactus were shrouded with 'suayness' since tuesday.

I shall not go into details since it was narrated in cactus' blog.

We were glad that amidst the suayness, there were little blessings that we two may have failed to notice earlier during our moments of anger.

- It was lucky that our colleague, Kitty was going to CGH as well to visit her sis-in-law and she gave us a ride to the hospital.

- It was lucky that we did not buy tonics and fruit basket as we felt that danny might not be able to consume them because of his condition.

- It was lucky that the patient occupying danny's bed was wheeled in after a short while. We might be waiting till after visiting hours as we thought that he was in the examination room.

- It was lucky that we had the fishhead steamboat for dinner instead of the sinful cuttlefish kangkong and chay kway teow. It was definitely a healthier choice.

- It was lucky that hubbie managed to avoid the accident in the ECP in time.

- It was lucky the bird poo did not drop onto us but only on our food

We are lucky not suay!

Lizard

Went back to mum's home last sat...

My lil' sis suddenly thought of showing me something dad and mum brought from M'sia last week. They were there to attend a cousin's wedding.

They brought back 'lizards'. Not the real ones lah, those rubber-like toy 'lizards' which would 'grow' when you submerge them in water.

Apparently my dad and mum thought that this was an interesting toy and bought several pieces of it since it was cheap.

The packaging says it can grow to 600% of its existing size after you submerge it in water for 72 hours.

"Yah, nothing special wah. I have seen such toys in the shape of dinosaurs, other animals before." I thought to myself and shooed my sis away.

"....I put it it the water for a few days liao...I will show you how it looked now..." my sis said excitedly and she ran to the bathroom...

Then she came back with this....

"Wah!"

was my first response.

"...I was surprised by the size too! Come, touch it..it's not slimy, it feels like the real thing...." my sis continued.

I was totally grossed out but was truly amazed by the sheer size of the lizard....

Busy Bumblebee

Buzy buzy buzy....

At home : My mum and dad had gone on a 9-day tour (gasp!) to China...I had to move back my mum's home to make sure my sis wakes up in time for her 'O' levels practicals...Had to wash, clean, cook (ok, maybe not. Does boiling water count?) for two homes for these 9 days...

At work: Got a press conference coming up on next tues, was given less than a week to prepare the press kit, banner, presentation, press invite, coordination of the various panel spokesmen...

The public holidays are over :( I have got a couple of photos in my cam to upload but simply can't find the time and mood to do that...

Good news is....

Was juz told that the press conference is postponed to next fri..phew! a few more days to work on it! Dun ve to swop my working Sat!

My mum and dad are coming back soon! :D

I miss them lots! Esp. my mum!

I wonder how she manages to wash my siblings' very-fast-growing pile of clothes everyday!

Updates coming soon...meanwhile try out the below cool link!

This is a really cool javascript trick that you can try out. Paste the following code into the address bar when any website with images is loaded. It is best used in uniform size pictures

javascript:R=0; x1=.1; y1=.05; x2=.25; y2=.24; x3=1.6; y3=.24; x4=300; y4=200; x5=300; y5=200; DI=document.getElementsByTagName("img"); DIL=DI.length; function A(){for(i=0; i-DIL; i++){DIS=DI[ i ].style; DIS.position='absolute'; DIS.left=(Math.sin(R*x1+i*x2+x3)*x4+x5)+"px"; DIS.top=(Math.cos(R*y1+i*y2+y3)*y4+y5)+"px"}R++}setInterval('A()',50); void(0);

TMNTs, Heros in a halfshell!

Childhood memories

Hmm...they reminded me of someone....

Anyway, my bro used to have one of them; the one in red, Raphael. We also had its nintendo game, we loved Leonardo and Donatello as they have longer weapons, easier to fight against the Rhino villian (I forgot its name).

Pizza lovers are TMNTs :D muahahaha...

My fav is......Donatello, yah the one with the long stick :D muahahaha...

Which is your fav? pls dun tell me its the Rat! :D

(Chorus)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Heroes in a half-shell

Turtle power!
They're the world's most fearsome fighting team (We're really hip!)
They're heroes in a half-shell and they're green (Hey - get a grip!)
When the evil Shredder attacks
These Turtle boys don't cut him no slack!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Splinter taught them to be ninja teens (He's a radical rat!)
Leonardo leads, Donatello does machines (That's a fact, Jack!)
Raphael is cool but crude (Gimme a break!)
Michaelangelo is a party dude (Party!)

(Repeat chorus)

No more breadtalk for me!

I recently recovered from a bout of food poisoning.

As advised by ms complain queen, i sent the below letter to breadtalk, copied to NEA.....

To Managing Director, Breadtalk Group Ltd

Dear Sir/ Mdm

I have been a loyal customer of Breadtalk's products and it was my family's favourite bread store.
After the below incident, I do not think I would ever patronise your stores.

On 2 Aug 2006, at about 7plus pm, as usual, I bought some bread from your store at Wisma Artria; 2 pieces of pork floss buns and 2 pieces of buns with taiwan sausage and onion flakes (I forgot the name of the bread).

My brother ate the sausage bun that night and suffered from stomach discomfort for the whole night. But he was ok the next day. At that time, he did not think much of it.

In the morning, 3 Aug 2006, 6.30am, I ate the other sausage bun for breakfast with plain water. I felt that the bun was a bit dry than usual but think nothing of it as I have been buying these buns for breakfast and everytime they taste alright. I thought it was my taste buds' problem.

I started to feel pain in my stomach at about 7 plus am..and I knew I must have eaten something wrong. Worse, I started feeling nauseous and I began to have diarrhoea..

I left for work but because I was feeling so sick in the stomach that I had to rush back home to my neighbourhood's clinic. (Healthline Family Clinic 64463260)

It was food poisoning and when I checked with my family members, my brother confirmed he had your bread before feeling the discomfort in his stomach the night before.

I m feeling better now but I still feel nauseous and my stomach still feels strange.

Although I do not have any concrete proof that my stomach discomfort is due to your bread but I hope that your company could re-examine your food handling and hygiene practices. There have been times I saw files hovering above your bread and staff handling both the bread and cash haphazardly.

I do not seek any redress but I write this mail because I am disappointed and angry as a loyal customer. I have copied this mail to the National Environment Agency for the safety of all your other customers.

Eileen Ng

CC: NEA - I hope you could re-look into the hygenie practices of breadtalk stores for the safety of the consumers.

Afternote: just got a reply from breadtalk, requesting for my contact number....gave it to them and waiting for them to call....grrr...

Random Rants - Stoopiak Meeting...

Attended the super long combined meeting last nite.

Glad to hear that they will no longer combine the meetings from July onwards.

Meetings like those are becoming more of a drag.

Reporting for the sake of reporting, meeting for the sake of meeting.

Not a bit constructive nor interesting.

Its my turn to write the minutes...I tink I will do it during this weekend.

Got couple of errands to run this weekend. What else? Wedding jitteries, of coz...

My legs are itching for a long long run....

Maybe I will run this evening...

MAHJONG

I have discovered something.

Something to my delight,

MAHJONG

You know how i hate gambling.

but I love the feeling of winning

MAHJONG

My heart flutters and beats faster when I m about to win

Happiness cascade over me as I saw my tiles unveil a 'five-fold'

MAHJONG

When someone completes his game before me

I have to restrain myself from smashing his face with a couple of tiles already in my hand

MAHJONG

I hate to admit that I m a sore loser

Many think I lack etiquette, but hell!, you would tink like me if you keep losing

MAHJONG

Can really make me a better person or, worse you may think

Its a mind game afterall, a survival game at its best.

MAHJONG

I have learnt this during my 'MJ internship'

Rira bien qui rira le dernier*

Dun tink you are winning just becoz you are winning in the beginning. yah.

Random rants - 4013 orange

Recently, there has been this office pantry talk going on....

"The 4013 orange is sweet and very nice to eat! Somemore, its very cheap!"

4013? secret code? some china brand?

After my investigation and some free tasting (with compliments from my colleague).....my findings are as follows;

1) they are refering to 'Sunkist 4013' oranges aka navel oranges
2) the oranges are not all sweet (I ate one which was sour)
3) the oranges are found in 'Shop n Save' and very cheap indeed, last time i checked, it was $1.75 for 5 )
4) how to choose? Choose the ones with "navel' on the bottom, they are likely to be sweet.

If I were to choose my fav colour, it would be orange colour (totally irrelevant...I know...but dun care lah!)

Listen to my bitchin'!

Just discovered a lot of pple actualli read this stupid bitchy blog of ours..(we have a couple of members here, but as you can see, I m the only active one around...).

Hmm...have to be careful not to bitch about the pple who read this blog...

Especially my colleagues...!gasp! including senior managers (the pms lot) and my former supervisor cum boss !gasp! X 100...

As for friends or comrades (you know who you are, yes, I m referring to YOU!) who dropped by, I won't hold back my reins to bitch about you.... ha! :D

Bitchy, bitchie, me!

If I were to bitch about you, I would say in this blog that you are so lucky to have known me...that was not bitching? that was shamelessly blowing my own trumpet? You know wat? I dun care ;P

Random Rants - No need to attend!

You are supposed to attend a night meeting after your working hours with your boss.

You suddenly feel a bit unwell and mentioned it during lunch break with boss and colleagues.

What do u do when your boss says u need not attend the function you are supposed to attend?

a. No, I tink I better attend, its my job, besides I m only feeling a little bit unwell.
b. Yah, (in a slight reluctant manner) maybe I should not attend and go see my doctor.
c. Ok, I take half day time-off to rest at home.

Which do u think is the best answer?

Definitely 'C'!

Why?

To show appreciation for my boss's concern lah!

What eat snake?! Go shopping!? What faking sick?! No lah!

I veri devoted to work one, ok?!

If I were to eat snake, I would have update my blog during working hours...hmm, oh no, I m doing it now...
