Wedding jitters - wedding photos selection

Was it me? Or were the photos bad?

Legend has it that couples will end up selecting more than they are entitled from their package...

But we selected the exact number of photos entitled to us (21 pcs, that is) for our album....

I was not exactly thrilled when I saw the photos, maybe because I expected them to be not as good.

I was glad that there were some really nice shots but like I said, I was not exactly thrilled.

ms Beyond and mr LPXX were with me when I select my photos...they were helpful and very patient, I appreciate their accompaniment for the two hours :) thanks, dearies...

Also must thank ms Ah Lian and ms complain queen who tried to comfort and assure me...

I looked through the photos and as I was mentally prepared, the photos were not so bad. But I just can't get over the fact that it could be better...

Anyway, I won't reshoot :) its not just bcoz of the $$$ but its bcoz the moment has been captured and there were some parts of the photoshoot which I enjoyed. e.g the TPJC shoot; although we only selected one photo on that; the stadium cove shots, I had fun there :)

I would be happy if people tell me on my wedding day, "Hey, you look prettier in person than on your wedding photos!" This should be the way, right? ha! :D

If I could, instead of posed photos, I would like my wedding album to be one with photos of the many loving moments both of us had and were not captured in photos...these would include the first time we celebrated his birthday and my birthday....

Random Rants - No need to attend!

You are supposed to attend a night meeting after your working hours with your boss.

You suddenly feel a bit unwell and mentioned it during lunch break with boss and colleagues.

What do u do when your boss says u need not attend the function you are supposed to attend?

a. No, I tink I better attend, its my job, besides I m only feeling a little bit unwell.
b. Yah, (in a slight reluctant manner) maybe I should not attend and go see my doctor.
c. Ok, I take half day time-off to rest at home.

Which do u think is the best answer?

Definitely 'C'!

Why?

To show appreciation for my boss's concern lah!

What eat snake?! Go shopping!? What faking sick?! No lah!

I veri devoted to work one, ok?!

If I were to eat snake, I would have update my blog during working hours...hmm, oh no, I m doing it now...

Happenings : Kiki at chinatown?

Oh, I went down to Chinatown recently and was waiting for the bus no. 2 when I heard this, "Welcome to Chinatown...." in both chinese and english...blarring from the speakers in the centre divider of CT!

I turned my head and looked up...eeeks! the people's complex was drawn with greenish moving streaks!!! AH!!!

ok...stay calm, they are just lasers...its the CNY special laser display put by the STB and the CT Association.

I could not see what was shown on the building except seeing eerie streaks of green and red lights all over the building as I was standing right in front of the building.

It was about the story of a dog, I tink...

After hearing bits and pieces of the story dialogue, Kiki from sentosa musical fountain suddenly seem so cute and adorable...

Chinatown trying to be the next Sentosa?

Oh plssseee!....What's the point? Trying to be high tech? Isn't this degrading the beautiful, natural charm of Chinatown?

Kao!

And to think that I always thought that Yangtze was bad for Chinatown, this laser display takes the cake!

If I were STB, I would allow more illegal street peddlars to roam the streets of Chinatown and even the backlanes, ban all motor vehicles and only allow trishaws on its streets...and for goodness's sake, stop the laser display and the stupid story telling over the speakers!

Art of Bitchin' - Lesson #1 : Writing a complaint letter

Lesson #1 - How to write a sarcastic complaint letter to a 'atas' aka prestigious car dealer....

PS: Ms Ah Lian - U are warned not to carry on reading as you may be disappointed with ur fav car brand!

Here's a sample of a complaint letter sent to the XXXXXwagon car company by one of my colleagues...she's realli good at bitchin'!

Attn: Forum Editors
Absolutely Atrocious Customer Service

On Saturday, the 14 th of Jan 2006, I visited the XXXXXwagen showroom at Alexandra with the specific objective of viewing the specifications of the New Bxxtle and hopefully be able to test drive one. However, what greeted me was not the top of the range service I expected from a prestigious car dealer such as you.

I entered the showroom only to be blatantly scrutinised and ignored by numerous salespeople despite the relatively empty showroom. I waited a good 15 minutes for service and got none. While I was looking at the Bxxtle in the showroom, a heavy-set female salesperson brushed past me in favour of a family who were looking at the exact same car and who had arrived later than me. She cheerfully greeted them by name and furnished them with the price of the car and other details. This behaviour baffles me, I was not even asked if I was served yet and was merely treated as a sort of glorified window-shopper. After growing slightly impatient waiting for the non-existent service, or at least service that was selectively targeted at people ostensibly more affluent than myself, my companion proceeded to the counter to ask for the New Beetle's price list. He was knocked back with a curt "We do not give out price lists," by the male employee who then proceeded to turn his back on us.

Upon request to see the manager, I got a reply that one was not around. I do understand that he/she may be engaged elsewhere but I was declined the manager's namecard when I asked for one with the reply that "there is no name card". I find that absurd as every member of your staff on the sales floor had a name card but the manager has none. Your showroom staff gave me the impression that any supervisory position at the showroom is merely phantom and that no such person exists except perhaps in the imagination of this customer.

After listening to my litany of complaints against your staff, the above-mentioned salesman promised me a test drive though after arranging it, did not speak to me, even though I was the one who expressed a strong interest in purchasing the car. He instead redundantly deferred to my companion when the car was ready.

During and after my test drive, I asked Wilson Lau, the sales facilitator a few questions, to which I got very disinterested answers. The range of questions asked were simple enquiries, for example: Why the interior of the car looked so dated. To which he replied that people bought the Bxxtle based on external aesthetics and not on interior decor. Surely he could have come up with a better sales pitch than that?

During the test drive, he hardly seemed enthusiastic about extolling the car's virtues. I had the impression that staff in the motor sales sector would be eager in spitting out a persuasive pitch as good chunk of their salary comes from commission earned. That would usually be a good incentive for good service, but none of that materialized. Which makes me question if the amount of training for staff from the management level is sufficient compared to your competitors.

I would like to add that being employed in the service industry, I find myself doubly intolerant to such favoritism based on first impressions. The service was not bad across the board but rather, in my opinion, selective. I feel I was ignored based on factors such as my relatively young age and perceived affluence, or rather lack thereof. Being ignored based on these factors, regrettably, is a part of Singapore's service culture, but being snubbed outright is another matter altogether.

XXXXXwagen may have a greater amount of prestige normally associated with a continental brand, but the service I experienced over the weekend certainly does not reflect it. The shambolic service ethic displayed by your showroom staff has lost you a customer.

If you regrettably skipped through most of my letter because you are treating it as a typical complaint, then I can see where the sales staffs get their customer service principles from.

For your convenience, I would like to state that your level of service is appalling. And suffice it to say, the XXXXwagen Group will certainly not win my vote for any customer service awards in the near future.

Best Regards,

AXXXX YXXX

*all names are deliberately spelt in Xes to avoid deframation suits...

And she CCed this complaint letter to all forum editors and all her colleagues and frens!

Let's start bitchin'!

If I were her (with all that money), I would not have even considered a bxxtle... :P I m a sting bag, I will save up and spend the money slowly...hahaha...

Wedding jitters - the ultimate photo shoot

Suay!

I thought the suayest thing to happen on my wedding photo shoot was to have rain during the day of shoot.

but alas!

Of all days, I had to have stomach flu on that day. I did not suspect a thing when I had running stools the nite before. Not even when my stomach was growling after I had a bowl of dry fishball noodles...

My first dress was the 'KUA' and I was still feeling ok then but I looked tired even I put on makeup (did not know I was feeling sick then). I was still bubbly and happy coz I told myself to enjoy the photoshoot...

Oh yah, my sis went along with us and helped us to take a few before and after shots...She was very bored!!!

I hate the freaking fake eyelashes!

mr FAT had a hard time squeezing into the men's KUA costume :) cannot zip up!! hahaha...instead he wore a mandarin collar suit. My face seem a bit swell, I tink it was bcoz I was not feeling well and did not sleep well the night before.

The next dress I wore was evening gown. That was when I started feeling ill. Felt like vomitting. The evening gown make me look a bit plump in the photos. I dunno why. I tot it looked nice. Mabbe I was not in the top form of posing for photos...

I started to feel like vomitting...Thought I was hungry, had a quick lunch b4 the wedding gown shoot. mr FAT ordered roast pork rice and I ate only the rice and got my sis to buy me a cafe latte fr starbucks...

this was it...

thereafter I felt terrible and worse. During my wedding gown shoot, I almost vomited when I was asked to turn my head to the back. I swallowed my vomit and the photographer panicked too. He was getting impatient with my fake smile...

how to smile naturally and be happy when I feel ill in my stomach and felt like vomitting?!

Plus cooped inside the dim, cold and enclosed photo studio, I was like dying to finish the shoot...No one is smart enuf to bring me out to have some fresh air! (myself included, I did not think of that! )

My last dress change was for my outdoor shoot. The photographer brought along some plastic bags and sour plums for me. So embarassing....

For the 1st stop, we went to TPJC. We had wanted to just pose outside but luckily there was a nice security guard who let us in to take some photos :) I felt much better outdoors, with the fresh air!

On our way to the next stop, 2 little gals on a lorry waved and smiled at us as if we were some stars. We went to PYSS, but there was no one there to open the gates for us. Morever the logo has changed! Sadly we went to our next stop...

The next stop was stadium cove. We took some 'running' poses at the bridge..it was fun and a group of ang mohs congratulated us. There was a group training for dragon boat race beneath the bridge and they waved at us...

Upon finding out that the sky was dark in the west side, we changed our next stop to changi beach instead of sentosa. mr Fat and me was pleasantly surprised when we reached changi beach. We did not know that the existence of the boardwalk and the scenic greenery there...it was so beautiful.

However, as there were strong winds, I started feeling ill and uncomfortable again...

mr Fat and me also had some problems with our styled hair coz the wind was too strong...

Our last stop was merlion....we just took a few shots as we were all tired and the freaking eyelashes were hurting my eyes....

I washed up for more than half an hour to remove the thick makeup before I laid flat on my bed and fell asleep...zzzz....

PS: I m taking the first peek of my photos this sat...not very optimistic of how the photos will turn out...keeping my fingers crossed... :P

If I were to take my photoshoot again, I would make sure I would insist to not have the freaking, irritating fake eyelashes and have a all-day outdoor shoot! Grrr.....

Console me!!!! Boo-hoo!.....

Random Rants - CNY food

Chinese New Year coming!

What's your fav CNY food item?

For me, it is a tie between ba kwa and pineapple tarts! :)

Whenever CNY is approaching, I would crave for those egg rolls and those orange-looking soft candies....

but when CNY is here, I started to munch on them, then I felt disappointed..

Why? Maybe, like in many other things/ people/ place (ok, we call it 'nouns') , we have our certain level of expectations. When the actual values/ feelings associated with the nouns falls below our expectations, we would be very disappointed....

If I were list my most unfav CNY food, it would be peanuts and soft candies! :P

Let's Bitch!

I ve been thinking to redo my blog for the longest time....then I thought why not create a shared blog?

Maybe I can get some frens who blogged consistently or seldom (like me) to post articles. There is no restriction to whatever topics, be it about ur life/ events/ thoughts/ movie reviews/ book reviews (I dun think I can get this sort of reviews)

So how? Wan to share the blog?

Aiyah, I will include u as member anyway....

Let's start bitching!

If I were a bitch, I would make everyone in the world say that I m beautiful and intelligent...(I tink I m a bitch inside cos I secretly wished everyone to say that)
