The day when it rained
I heard the funeral procession beyond the windows of my room.
It was no ordinary funeral procession.
The music of the procession was not loud, it was sad, just very sad...
It was my colleague's funeral procession.
I saw him alive and even talked to him 3 days ago before he collapsed and went into coma.
He was declared braindead and he was pulled off from his life support system.
We were all very shocked and very sad.
Very, very sad.....
I was advised not to attend his funeral wake as I just got married.
It was bright and clear at 1.30pm when I came back to office.
Then it started to rain.
His funeral procession was at 2pm.
My other colleagues who went to his funeral procession,
Came back drenched with red, tearful eyes.
They fought back tears but to no avail.
Tears welled up in my eyes, I felt very sad.
The heaven is crying too,
For the loss of a good, kind man.
Choo, it is our fortune to have you as our colleague.
May you rest in peace.

Throttle jitters - Road trip
While gingerly making my way out to the roads, I was pretty shaken by the gigantic 'tanker ship' aka the BBDC free shuttle bus turning into the driveway.
I dun understand why the driving centre needs to have a huge travel coach as their free shuttle bus.....
Anyway, I was thrilled when I hit fourth gear :)
Thought I was travelling real fast, but when i checked my odometer, I was only travelling at 60km/hr.
I hate turnings, especially at crossings.
I need to master the changing down to 2nd gear in one swift movement when I start to turn.
Whenever I change my gear, I would forget about my right hand holding the steering wheel.
I hate taxis who stop after the traffic junctions.
A taxi stopped right after the traffic junction and I waited till the traffic lights changed from green to red and to green again before I could move on...'
I really need to improve on...
1) The moving off from stationary - sometimes too slow, sometimes jerky
2) The braking - too abrupt and jerky
3) The tendency to align the car towards the right while travelling
4) The checking of mirrors before turning, moving and stopping
I need more practices...

Throttle jitters - changing gears
It was a lesson on changing gears. Learnt to change gears up and down, the max gear I change to was the 3rd gear as I was traveling around the circuit.
Kept moving the gear stick to 5th gear until I realised that 3rd gear is actually right above neutral gear.. *---*
When told to signal my move, my wipers came up... *---*
ps: the signal indicator is on my right, not left...
"Is the car inching forward?" I asked the instructor (its the same talkative guy) after I stopped the car with the clutch in.
"No lah! Must be your illusion lah!" the instructor shook his head as if I was a bit 'gila'. *---*
I was travelling round and round the circuit for the entire 100 min lesson ok? Can't blame me wah...
One of my leg almost had cramps after lesson, and surprise!, it was not the clutch-in left leg..its my right leg on the accelerator! Even the instructor was baffled!
Its only at the end of the lesson that I found out that my seat is adjusted too near the steering wheel..*---*
It was 'clever' of me to take the entire 100mins to realise why my right foot is aching.
Got a lesson on Friday nite and may go out to the roads...
I m excited oredi! ;)

Throttle jitters - 1st pract.
Only after I complete the fifth lesson, then I can book for my practical test which would be in Nov/ Dec. This is important as my PDL expire in Jan and I m not gonna waste $ to reapply....
In my 1st lesson,I learnt all the different parts in the car...learnt to start engine and travel at 1st and 2nd gear...
ms complaint queen has warned me of how talkative the instructors can be and I now understand..
Buay tahan when the instructor kept talking to me, asking me a hell lot of questions when I m trying to concentrate to change my gears... I guess he is a bit bored sitting in the passenger seat.
Nevertheless, he was a good instructor but a very sarcastic one.
I was taught how to change tyre. He challenged me to loosen a nut in the tyre. I was so happy when I managed to do so by jumping on the lever to unscrew the nut.
"This shows that you have enough 'weight' to change the tyre" he said flatly. Grrr...I shot him a irritated look...
he said that I drive like auntie, too slow and too careful...grr..
cannot believe I paid about $70 per lesson to listen to his sarcasm...
Anyway, I did have fun driving around the circuit..
Looking forward to my next lesson on Wednesday nite ;D
Movies and birthday
Nice movie, a tad bit of heartwarming towards the end...
If I had that remote control, I would fast forward my journey home from work and skip mondays, tuesdays...heck, all the working days...
Surprisingly, I liked the movie. Except for the emotionless acting by Kate Beckins, all was good..even the dogs are adorable...
Celebrated ms Ah Lian's bday last sat nite. In attendance were my lit' sis, ms complain queen, the biyongz, me and mr FAT and of coz, mr Woody.
mr Woody and ariel aka ms ah Lian - the DISNEY's most unlikely couple!
A mermaid and a toy cowboy? So kinky... :D
Anyway, back to topic, the disney couple treated us dinner at the Mitzi Restaurant where we had a fabulous spread of cantonese food...the full-of-eggs sharkfin, steamed prawns, seafood ngoh hiang, chicken skin with prawn paste etc. Not forgetting the green tea cake...
We got her a pair of earrings and a eye makeup compact from Christine Dior..
Here's a snapshot of us before the cake cutting...
We caught a movie after dinner...
The movie was not as good as it was reviewed...in fact, it was draggy and corny...
Our birthday gal got hungry and angry after the movie so we went to maxwell for supper, followed by a mj session at orange. All's well that ends well, she was the winner of the mj session :)
Here's wishing you again, Happy Bdae, zhu ge Ping :D

His hobby
yes, UPDATING BANK BOOKS!
uncles, aunties dun even do that now!
He would take the trouble to bring the various banks' books to various atms and update them periodically, practically every month.
Sometimes, I can't help but to marvel at the way he read his bank books after updating them..its like a kid reading his just-bought comic book....
Not that he has a lot of money in the bank accounts...he said that he just wanted to know where all his money spent on...
He knows all the funny acronyms used in the bank books! ATR, FPT etc...
Did I mention that he also updates my bank books?
"I helped you update your bank books..." mr FAT said
(Hmm..Did I ask him to? *I scratched my head)
"You have to go to the bank one of these days to change your bank book...it has run out of pages for me to update..." mr FAT reminded me for the umpteen time.
(*I shake my head in exasperation)
I tink he will do it for me....
Update: He got me a fresh new bank book.

No more breadtalk for me!
As advised by ms complain queen, i sent the below letter to breadtalk, copied to NEA.....
To Managing Director, Breadtalk Group Ltd
Dear Sir/ Mdm
I have been a loyal customer of Breadtalk's products and it was my family's favourite bread store.
After the below incident, I do not think I would ever patronise your stores.
On 2 Aug 2006, at about 7plus pm, as usual, I bought some bread from your store at Wisma Artria; 2 pieces of pork floss buns and 2 pieces of buns with taiwan sausage and onion flakes (I forgot the name of the bread).
My brother ate the sausage bun that night and suffered from stomach discomfort for the whole night. But he was ok the next day. At that time, he did not think much of it.
In the morning, 3 Aug 2006, 6.30am, I ate the other sausage bun for breakfast with plain water. I felt that the bun was a bit dry than usual but think nothing of it as I have been buying these buns for breakfast and everytime they taste alright. I thought it was my taste buds' problem.
I started to feel pain in my stomach at about 7 plus am..and I knew I must have eaten something wrong. Worse, I started feeling nauseous and I began to have diarrhoea..
I left for work but because I was feeling so sick in the stomach that I had to rush back home to my neighbourhood's clinic. (Healthline Family Clinic 64463260)
It was food poisoning and when I checked with my family members, my brother confirmed he had your bread before feeling the discomfort in his stomach the night before.
I m feeling better now but I still feel nauseous and my stomach still feels strange.
Although I do not have any concrete proof that my stomach discomfort is due to your bread but I hope that your company could re-examine your food handling and hygiene practices. There have been times I saw files hovering above your bread and staff handling both the bread and cash haphazardly.
I do not seek any redress but I write this mail because I am disappointed and angry as a loyal customer. I have copied this mail to the National Environment Agency for the safety of all your other customers.
Eileen Ng
CC: NEA - I hope you could re-look into the hygenie practices of breadtalk stores for the safety of the consumers.
Afternote: just got a reply from breadtalk, requesting for my contact number....gave it to them and waiting for them to call....grrr...
